Romania's "amormori" is on cloud nine today after they turned a $25 investment into $9,158 and an 888poker XL Winter Series title. The Romanian grinder outlasted 4,674 opponents in the $100,000 XL Winter #45 – Mystery Bounty Mini Event and scooped a significant slice of the guarantee-busting $105,187 prize pool.

Although "amormori" became the tournament's champion, they did not walk away with the largest payout. Mexico-based "MuyB1eN" captured the biggest prize of the event courtesy of pulling the jackpot bounty from its golden envelope. "MuyB1eN" busted in 63rd place for $93.81 but also received $10,000 from the mystery bounty prize pool, resulting in a $10,093.81 payday, almost $1,000 more than the eventual champion.

With mystery bounty payments included, each of the eight finalists locked in a four-figure score for their $25 buy-in. Brazil's "geangr" collected the first of these, falling in eighth place and banking $1,8009.

"IOwnU888" finished in seventh for $1,092 before "MarioDutraJR," another Brazilian, crashed out in sixth for $1,308.

Germany's "Amup88" saw their deep run end in a fifth-place finish. Although disappointed not to be the last player standing, "Amup88" saw their 888poker account balance swell by $5,736, the second-largest payout at the final table, after pulling one of the two $4,000 mystery bounties before they busted.

Fourth place and $2,500 went to Romania's "DXforce," with the Mini Main Event progressing to the heads-up stage when "Naik10" bowed out in third, adding $5,502 to their bankroll.

"amormori" and the United Kingdom's "fishinbear" clashed heads-up, with the former coming out on top. "amormori" received $9,158 for their victory, leaving the runner-up to reel in a $4,624 consolation prize.

Huge Scores Guaranteed as $1M Main Event Reaches Final Table

While "amormori" was busy navigating their way to victory in the Mini Main Event, the $1 million guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event was whittling its field down from 1,145 to the final table of eight players. Big payouts are the order of the day in this tournament despite the event overlaying by around $30,000. 888poker processed 1,175 entries, resulting in a $1 million prize pool.

Fourteen of the mystery bounty amounts weighed in at five figures, with the jackpot bounty awarding its lucky recipient a cool $100,000. Denmark's "Slikkelade" pulled that princely sum from its envelope before bagging enough chips for third place at the restart. The Dane is guaranteed an additional $9,750 from the regular prize pool but could bank as much as $81,649 if they come out on top.

"Kellerrr69" is the chip leader going into the final table, which starts at 7:00 p.m. GMT on January 28 under the watchful eyes of the 888poker Twitch channel. The leader has 108 big blinds in their stack, almost twice as many as any other finalist. "Kellerrr69" is already $21,293 to the good thanks to mystery bounty payouts.
