Keith Littlewood is the man to catch in the race for a £40,000 sponsorship package as the 2025 National Poker League (NPL) moves past the halfway stage. Littlewood tops the leaderboard going into July, holding a narrow advantage over Dale Wilson in second place.
Throughout 2025, players earn valuable NPL points by finishing in the money in Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT), Grosvenor 25/50, Mini Fest, UK Open, Goliath, Behemoth, and 888poker UK Poker League (UKPL) tournaments, plus select Grosvenor Poker online events.
Whoever tops the leaderboard walks away with a £40,000 sponsorship package to join Team Grosvenor in 2026, the Grosvenor Casinos Player of the Year trophy, and an entry to an invite-only £100,000 Champions tournament. Right now, Littlewood is in pole position to become a Team Grosvenor Pro in 2026.
Littlewood has cashes dating back to 2005, but 2025 has been his best year yet, and there are still five months to go. Sheffield's Littlewood has so far cashed in 14 Grosvenor tournaments, reached nine final tables within those 14 cashes, and won three events outright. His £136,733 ($177,333) in earnings means even in the extremely unlikely event that Littlewood doesn't cash again in 2025, he'll still have enjoyed his biggest year.

Dale Wilson looks set to push Littlewood all the way in the race for the £40,000 sponsorship package. Almost all of Wilson's $334,016 live winnings stem from his grinding this year. Among his results are a third-place finish in the £1,500 Grosvenor UK Open worth £116,840, a runner-up finish in the £1,650 GUKPT Leeds High Roller for £20,560, and a victory in the £560 888poker UKPL Reading Main Event for £30,000.
Though Littlewood and Wilson are the current frontrunners, they can ill afford to rest on their laurels because many of the chasing pack could reel them in if they go on a tear in the second half of 2025.
The likes of Yucel Eminoglu, Robert Douras, Alexander Rizvi, Mariusz Czech, Adam Wilkinson, and Stefan Lazar could catch the leaders, as could Calogero Morreale and Thomas Clack. You may recall that Morreale finished third in this race in 2022, won it in 2022, and was the third-place finisher last year.

GUKPT stops are perfect for those wanting to earn NPL points because several points-awarding events take place in a short space of time. GUKPT London runs from July 9-22 at the newly refurbished The Poker Room, formerly The Vic, in the English capital.
Several players in the NPL top ten are currently in Las Vegas for the WSOP and are likely to stay there until they bust from the Main Event, meaning GUKPT London could be the perfect opportunity for grinders to catch up with the front runners.
