  • A standard game can be played by two to six players, and the rules can change slightly depending on the type of game being played, like Kalooki, Indian Rummy, or Gin Rummy. Players are dealt a set number of cards at the start, typically seven or ten, and the remaining cards are arranged in a draw pile. The discard pile is initiated by placing the top card face-up from the draw pile. In order to form legitimate combinations, players alternately draw cards from the draw or discard piles. Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit make up a sequence, whereas three or four cards of the same rank but different suits make up a set.
