The traditional card game canasta has endured since its creation in Uruguay in the 1940s. Although Canasta and classic rummy games are similar, Canasta differs in its rules and gameplay mechanics. Canasta, which is usually played with two decks of cards & accepts four players split into two partnerships, encourages cooperation and teamwork among teammates.
