In order to create sets or runs, you must strategically discard cards that could help your opponents while combining the cards in your hand. Players alternately draw from the draw pile or the discard pile as the game goes on, then try to lay down their melds. A sequence of three or more cards657 slots in the same suit, or three or more cards of the same rank, make up a meld. Also, players have the option to add to already-existing melds on the table, which adds another level of strategy as you choose which cards to hold onto or use to your advantage. The game goes on until one player declares "Holly!" to indicate victory after successfully laying down every card they have. Depending on the house rules, scoring may differ, but generally speaking, opponents receive points for unplayed cards that remain in their hands, so it's critical to monitor what other players are holding.
