After Kristen Foxen's run to 13th-place in last year's Main Event, there's plenty of attention being given even at this early stage to female poker players.
Three-time bracelet-winner Vanessa Selbst, Day 1d chip leader Riva Arthur, Esther Taylor and Kathy Liebert all advanced from their starting flights, as well as Susan Faber, who is sitting on a healthy stack with one level left in Day 2abc.
A former bracelet winner herself, she's poised for a deep run in poker's most prestigious tournament.

Last summer, she captured not one, but two WSOP Circuit rings in Cherokee, North Carolina. Her first win came after beating record ring-winner Maurice Hawkins heads-up, denying him his 19th WSOP Circuit ring.
"That gave me some self-confidence," she said. "Heading into this year's WSOP, I just thought 'I'll go do that again!'"
So far in the Main Event, that confidence is paying off. "There's been some big confrontations, but I seem to have won them all!" Faber smiled. "I'm over 400,000 now, so that's good. If I can hang onto that, I'm going to be happy."
Faber is currently sharing a table on Day 2 with two other women, Yael Pilo Raz and Nadya Magnus, and noted a previous encounter with Raz. "I played with [Raz] in the Women's event," she said.
When asked if that experience helped her navigate the Main, she laughed: "Probably!"
This marks Faber's third attempt at the WSOP Main Event. While she's yet to cash, she's feeling optimistic and focused on breaking through this time. "Cashing's the goal for sure!"
