A predetermined number of cards, usually 13, are dealt to each player at the start of the game. To begin the discard pile, the top card is positioned face-up, & the remaining cards form a draw pile. Players take turns selecting cards from the discard or draw piles in an effort to create better hands by assembling legitimate sets & sequences. The game goes on until one player declares Rummy and ends the round after successfully melding all of their cards.
